In HögforsGST’s article series “Career Stories”, we get to know our colleagues and their roles within the company. In this installment, we meet Maria Bergqvist, a central part of our service and support team.
From an Interest in HVAC to a Problem‑Solver at HögforsGST
Maria Bergqvist has always had an eye for technology and smart solutions. Already in upper secondary school, she chose the four-year technical program specializing in HVAC and qualified as an Upper Secondary Engineer. “I’ve always been curious about alternative energy sources,” she says.
Broad Experience Before HögforsGST
Before becoming part of our team, Maria worked as an HVAC engineer at AFRY. She also spent time as a trainer and sales representative at a CAD reseller. “It was an exciting time; I got to combine technology with customer interaction, which I enjoy.”
How Her Journey with Us Began
It was actually a friend who saw an ad saying we were looking for an inside sales representative in Stenungsund. “He said, ‘This is something for you!’ and he was right. I applied and got the job.” The rest is history. Today, Maria has been with us for over seven and a half years.
Career Development and Current Role
Maria started as an inside sales representative, but after two years she moved into service and claims. Today, she’s one of our most experienced problem-solvers. “I work with technical support, handle warranty claims, and sell spare parts. In short: I make sure customers get the right help and materials.”
A Day with Maria
“I always start by checking my email, then it takes off!” The phone rings, claims need to be registered, and staying in touch with our service department in Finland is an important part of the job. “There’s a lot to stay on top of, but I like the pace.”
Why Does Maria Enjoy It So Much?
“I really enjoy working at HögforsGST! The tasks are varied, and it’s rewarding to help customers solve their problems. And the colleagues, we’ve got a really great team here.”
