Sakari Toikkanen has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Board of HögforsGST.
Sakari Toikkanen is currently the CEO of the building technology company Currentum Partners. Toikkanen has more than 20 years of experience managing industrial service companies in Finland and Europe. Previously, Toikkanen has worked for, e.g., YIT and Caverion in management and development positions. According to HögforsGST Managing Director Antti Hartman, Toikkanen’s wide-ranging experience in construction and building technology will help HögforsGST achieve its goals for international growth.
– We have been on a stable growth path for a long time. I believe that under the leadership of a top professional like Sakari Toikkanen, we will be able to accelerate our growth even further. Sakari’s strong international experience is just the right addition to the HögforsGST team, Hartman says.
– There is a growing demand for HögforsGST’s energy-efficient and smart heating and cooling solutions, as most of the energy consumption in buildings is caused by heating. The goal, together with the current management and key personnel, is to accelerate the company’s growth even further, especially by developing smart heating systems and hybrid solutions. Therefore, I am delighted to accept the position of chairman in a company where entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, and high professionalism create a solid cultural foundation, says Sakari Toikkanen.
DEN Group’s CEO Jussi Niemelä, who previously served as the chairman of HögforsGST’s board, continues as a board member. In addition to chairman Toikkanen and Niemelä, HögforsGST’s board includes Rototec’s founding partner Mikko Ojanne and Janne Näränen and Tuomas Sarkola from Intera Partners, a private equity firm that joined as HögforsGST’s partner in early 2022.
